Free Training Workshop on Video Mapping

It’s October 1st 2014 and Perlimpinpin Designers adds and ticks another event in its ‘Events’ List’! This time we are talking about the Free Training Workshop on Video Mapping we organised specifically for beginners.

The session welcomed 20 trainees rigorously artists coming from the more diverse creative backgrounds and with a strong passion for technology! Although most of the attendees work in the art industry indeed, by ‘artists’ here we mean everyone who has a natural inclination to follow his instinct and join a group of crazy strangers prompted only from the desire to learn this cutting-edge technology! In fact, the workshop was organised right to approach those who had been fascinated from this technology but had never had any opportunity to learn how it works!

The workshop kicked-off with Emmanuel presenting the basic concepts of Projection Mapping. Videos and tutorials also supported his explanations, just as the attendees comments and personal knowledge contributed to clarifications. Two volunteers, John and Gill, helped us to reveal the first steps of Resolume, one of the many Projection Mapping software. After 1 hour ‘lecture’, where attendees had also the opportunity to introduce themselves, a little aperitif of delicious home-made sandwiches and drinks gladdened the evening! The refreshments were then followed by the core part of the workshop, where we actually saw our participants practicing Resolume programme!

Attendees were divided into groups and challenged to create projection mappings on surfaces of different shapes and in a certain period of time! Each hour, in fact, participants needed to leave their original group and join another one to create a different video projection! The outcome was brilliant: attendees got to know one other and swapped contact details to think about further creative collaboration, familiarized with a great video mapping software and enjoyed an enthusiastic and original evening!

Feedbacks on this workshop have been excellent and we are still receiving congratulations from attendees as well as solicitings for the next workshop!

We feel sorry not to have given all members on list the opportunity to join the MeetUp, but we are going to organise a bigger session next time!

So stay in tune with the next workshop on Video Mapping!

Move to The Bakery

On June 27th 2014 Perlimpinpin Designers has moved to The Bakery, a dedicated workspace and Accelerator Programme based in London designed to help tech companies entering the market at a rocket speed. By introducing them to a range of global brands and their advertising, creative and media agencies, The Bakery offers tech companies the opportunity to sell their ideas, enabling them to take the shape of real businesses. Hence, in a win-win context, ‘Creatives’ meet large organisations in order to collaborate and launch innovative solutions aiming at answering unmet customers’ needs.

Creativity and innovation are among the ingredients of the Bakery’s atmosphere and what we breathe daily. Each company works thoroughly on its own project. A cup of coffee accompanies scrupulously one side of a laptop and its smell dissipates in the environment. A bright green grass flooring gladdens the workspace and free drinks and snacks are at the Creatives disposal for a relaxing break.

Parties, presentations, workshops, challenges and seminars are the occasions to meet people, make friends, share ideas, give and have insights. The ‘Event space’ is the area hosting these events and it is fully equipped with all kinds of facilities. Deckchairs help simulate a joyful sunny time in the garden and bright smiles light up the setting and boost ideas to take increasingly shape. What more could we ask for?!

Perlimpinpin Designers has undertaken a new exciting yet challenging path to be followed and we are all ready to racket this creative UK market! As ‘someone’ used to say to folks, “Stay hungry, stay foolish”!

The new Marketing interns joining the company!

As it is well known, at the very beginning a start-up faces different challenges in order to

integrate itself in a market. One of these includes finding the right people to form a great team

able to rocket!

For this reason, Perlimpinpin Designers has promptly decided to look for experts in the

marketing field. However, being a company full of creative and young energetic spirits,

what better than two fab Interns to start with, in a win-win perspective?! So here they are,

Clémence and Enrica joined the group as Marketing Interns! The atmosphere is great and the

idea behind it is as much kind and innovative.

Perlimpinpin Designers want to give voice to everyone has something to say. Everyone who is

keen to express his talent, competences and want to make things! Because there is no better

thing than relying on people and give them the opportunity to do, to learn and to grow.

Steve Jobs reminded us the importance of giving people tools in order to let them doing

wonderful things. In line with this way of thinking, Perlimpinpin Designers has first and

foremost entered the UK market with the aim to create a big Community of people ‘talking’

about their skills.

Clémence and Enrica are two brilliant girls at the end of their MSc Marketing studies who

can’t wait to ‘tell us a story’ of what they have been studying so far! As we know how it is

difficult nowadays for students to get their first experiences in the field they have so hardly

been working on at Universities, we were pleased to bring them on board of this exciting

new British adventure. And not surprisingly, we are glad to see Clémence and Enrica doing

successfully the first steps in their marketing careers.

They are bringing the company a number of ideas, suggestions and improvements on the

basis of careful considerations and market research. On the other hand, they are also bringing

an even younger touch to the company, which is the reason why we are delighted to share

with them not only ‘business issues’ but also the ordinary moments of life. Recently, we have

celebrated birthdays, exams results and we are just waiting for the next event in our To Do

List’s team!

Because we believe that when the workplace’s environment is pleased, everyone has the

pleasure to do his best to make the company succeed. In one word, it’s all about the sense of

Belonging, which is what makes the difference and what we want to build our philosophy on!

Good Team building to everyone!
